So far, so good… tournament registration
One of the big changes that we did in NorCal for this season was to pilot a process for registering into a tournament way earlier than previous years. The initial view from my side of the process is that this was much better. Last year, I processed ~300 jotform submissions, nearly all in the first week of October to get ready to open tournament registration for all teams on October 13th. This year, I did more reviews but between the end of August and the beginning of October… so more work, but spread out over a much longer time window.
So, I give the new Early Bird process a thumbs up.
What didn’t work so well, is that people looked at the “half full” events and thought that they were completely full. I have been trying to figure out how to make this more obvious. I could limit registrations but show the full size but I thought that would be more confusing. What do you think?
Here are 2 pictures: 2015 – 15minutes after General Registration opened and 2016 – 90 minutes after General Registration opened…
Now back to reviewing jotform submissions for all of the coaches that waited until yesterday and today to submit/edit….
Jill – from the “other side” i.e. from a user standpoint , the process worked out better for me as well … I was a little disappointed though not to have the QT venues close to our neighborhood, but I guess that not such as big trade off.
GREAT WORK in making this more streamlined
