Raghu,
Once an item is in base the kids can pick it up an move it around. Also, once an item is in base the kids can “store” it on the table next to base as long as the items remain in view of the referee. I am a rokie coach and have a couple of questions about the missions.
1. The Mat display shows a few things in the base, such as a lady, a helmet, a water jug etc. Should they be in the base, and if so how does the robot occupy the base?,.

Typically things in “base” an things that are considered in control of the team. Rule 21 – Stored Objects and Rule 28 – Storage and Workspace allow the teams to move things in and out of base and onto tables or in boxes, as long as they don’t have some kinds of affect on the autonomous operations of the robot.
