Opportunity for Gracious Professionalism and Christmas Spirit
Hello FIRST Lego League Teams,
We invite you to show your Gracious Professionalism and the Spirit of Christmas by donating your used Field Setup Kit (Challenge Set).
– We will provide you a receipt for your donation, which can mean tax savings for your family.
– We will also provide you a certificate for your generous contribution to the community to promote FIRST robotics.
The Field Setup Kit that is no longer useful to your team (unless you are in the Regionals), will mean so much to the children of Bay Area Rescue Mission (shelter for homeless families) and other charitable institutions that serve the underprivileged. We (RoboKnights FIRST Tech Challenge Team 5220 and RoboKnights Institute of Inspired Learning, a non-profit), have been teaching Robotics to the children of Bay Area Rescue Mission and bring to them the aspirations of better future through Robotics, Science and Technology. They have shown incredible potential and true joy in learning Robotics.
The constraint is financial affordability. You can be the one who brings this opportunity to them, by donating your Field Kits that you don’t need anymore. If you are not doing FLL next year (“graduating team”), or know any other graduating teams that do not need their EV3 kits anymore, you can also donate the EV3 Kits. That will bring tremendous value to them (and you will receive even bigger donation receipts).
We hope that the generosity of NorCal community will bring enough donations – Field-Kits and EV3 kits – to realize the dreams of children to learn robotics not only at Bay Area Rescue Mission, but also other institutions that serve the underprivileged. We have also taught robotics at Mid-Peninsula Housing (one of the largest affordable housing non-profit in California) and other institutions.
We need your donations as soon as possible, hopefully by this Sunday December 18th, so that these children have the opportunity to learn robotics during the Christmas Break.
If you are ready to donate, please email us at theroboknights@gmail.com . If you want to donate but driving to Fremont to drop off your donation is a challenge, please let us know, and we will try our best to arrange a pick-up.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Shalin Shah
