The Scrimmage will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Lewis and Joan Platt East Palo Alto Fami ly YMCA\, Community Room\, 550 Bell Street\, East Palo Alto (community ro om is in back\, there is a parking lot off of\nEuclid for convenient acce ss) .\n\nThe scrimmage is a practice opportunity for the qualifying tourna ments in November.  We will be conducting matches under tournament condit ions-matches will run for 2 1/2 minutes and will be scored by referees acc ording to FLL rules.  We'll have pit tables set up where you can work o n your robot\, and we will have practice FLL fields available for testi ng your robot between official matches. You'll have the chance to run your robot on different fields and to see how other teams approach the mission s.  Don't worry if you can only attempt a couple missions or your missio ns don't work.  Lots of teams will be like that\, and your robot’s scri mmage scores do not count towards the awards given at the November tourna ment.  Also there is no judging of robot design\, the research project\, or core values at the scrimmage. Teams are queued for scrimmage matches based on a first-come first-served basis.  We'll keep a running list of t eams that want to run a competition match.  We take the first two teams f rom the list\, have them compete in a match\, and then continue through th e list. After a team completes a match\, the team can sign up for another match.  We expect to have enough time for teams to run at least 2 to 3 ma tches.\nTo apply for a slot\, please fill out the 2017 Scrimmage Regist ration Form  by October 16.  It has additional information about parti cipating in the scrimmage including volunteer requirements.\n\n\nOur capac ity is limited to 12 teams right now. If more teams apply\, then BCM Robot ics will choose teams with a preference for teams  from East Palo Alto a rea with an additional preference for rookie teams.  We also may open add itional slots.  Teams with fewer than four members may not be accepted or may be asked to share a spot with another small team as we want to give t he scrimmage experience to more kids.  All teams must provide volunteers and possibly challenge tables and field set to be able to anticipate.   We will let teams know by the middle of October if they have a spot at the scrimmage.  We will also have a waiting list in case selected teams deci de not to participate.\n\nThere will be a $30 registration fee for the s crimmage\, to cover expenses of running the BCM Robotics organization and events.
