The Scrimmage will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  at\n NEW LOCATION:   EPAA High School\, 1050 Myrtle St\, East Palo Alto \n\n[change from East Palo Alto City Hall\, Community Room\, 2415 Univers ity Ave.\, East Palo Alto].\n\nThe scrimmage is a practice opportunity for the qualifying tournaments in November.  We will be conducting matches u nder tournament conditions-matches will run for 2 1/2 minutes and will be scored by referees according to FLL rules.  We'll have pit tables set u p where you can work on your robot\, and we will have practice FLL field s available for testing your robot between official matches. You'll have the chance to run your robot on different fields and to see how other team s approach the missions.  Don't worry if you can only attempt a couple m issions or your missions don't work.  Lots of teams will be like that\, a nd your robot’s scrimmage scores do not count towards the awards given at the November tournament.  Also there is no judging of robot design\, t he research project\, or core values at the scrimmage. Teams are queued f or scrimmage matches based on a first-come first-served basis.  We'll ke ep a running list of teams that want to run a competition match.  We take the first two teams from the list\, have them compete in a match\, and th en continue through the list. After a team completes a match\, the team ca n sign up for another match.  We expect to have enough time for teams to run at least 2 to 3 matches.\nTo apply for a slot\, please fill out the 2 018 Scrimmage Registration Form  by October 16.  It has additional i nformation about participating in the scrimmage including volunteer requir ements.\n\n\nOur capacity is limited to 12 teams right now. If more teams apply\, then BCM Robotics will choose teams with a preference for teams   from East Palo Alto area with an additional preference for rookie teams.   We also may open additional slots.  Teams with fewer than four members may not be accepted or may be asked to share a spot with another small te am as we want to give the scrimmage experience to more kids.  All teams must provide volunteers and possibly challenge tables and field set to be able to anticipate.  We will let teams know by the middle of October if they have a spot at the scrimmage.  We will also have a waiting list in c ase selected teams decide not to participate.\n\nThere will be a $30 regi stration fee for the scrimmage\, to cover expenses of running the BCM Rob otics organization and events.
