A request to Intel employees who are FIRST Coaches/Mentors/Parents:

First of all, Thank You for coaching or mentoring or helping run a team!

As you know your volunteer hours are matched by dollars by Intel Foundation. For every 20 hours the supported non-profit gets $200. Here is more information on how you can log your hours for Playing At Learning.

• Playing At Learning (P@L) is the Jr. FLL, FLL and FTC partner for Northern California and they do an amazing job organizing the various events for the largest concentration of teams in California. P@L is a volunteer driven organization supporting over 560 FLL teams and over 150 FTC teams. They are also a 501 (c) (3) not for profit organization and need your support. As you know Intel Foundation started funding non-profit organizations based on Intel volunteer hours and the deadline to log all your volunteering hours for 2016 is Jan 15, 2017.

• The following is taken out of the guidelines and it defines the activities considered for volunteer match and so if you chaperoned the team to various FLL events or mentored the team, it counts as volunteer hours. More info is available at Volunteer Intranet page.

All volunteer hours for school-related activities are eligible for matching grants, including assisting with classroom-based activities, mentoring, tutoring, teaching, coaching or officiating school sports programs, chaperoning field trips, and assisting with after-school programs or other school-sponsored extracurricular activities.

• HOW TO REPORT YOUR HOURS:
• Within Intel Intranet go to http://volunteer.intel.com/ and click “Report Hours”, it will take you to the external vendor’s website.
• Under “Report Individual Volunteer Hours”, you can search the database with “playing” in the organization name and please put “Fremont” in the city. This will show “Playing at Learning” with the ID 0009933.
